SatEnlight showcases optical communications at the Plug and Play Italy Summit 2026

On 16 June 2026, SatEnlight joined the Plug and Play Italy Summit at Palazzo Mezzanotte in Milan.

The event brought together startups, investors, corporations, researchers and institutions to explore technologies expected to reshape the next generation of industrial innovation.

The 2026 edition focused on the theme “Thinking Machines, Moving Industries: The Physical AI Era”, but the startup ecosystem represented at the Summit extended across several areas of deep tech, including aerospace and advanced infrastructure.

SatEnlight was one of more than 20 startups showcasing their technologies during the event.

For the company, the Summit offered an opportunity to present optical communications outside a purely space-focused environment and connect with a broader network of industrial and investment stakeholders.

This cross-sector exposure is particularly relevant to SatEnlight’s development.

Although satellite communications remain a central application for the technology, the same principles behind free-space optical communication can potentially address different connectivity requirements across terrestrial, airborne and space systems.

The Milan event also came during an intense period of growth for SatEnlight.

During the first half of 2026, the company had already presented its work internationally, won the Startup Space Competition in Washington and participated in European programmes focused on optical and space technologies.

By June 2026, these activities were increasingly complementing the company’s engineering roadmap with new opportunities for industrial collaboration and market validation.

The Plug and Play Italy Summit gathered more than 550 international guests and over 20 startups at its 2026 edition.
