SatEnlight is a deep-tech company developing next-generation architectures for optical communication. Founded by physicists and rooted in instrumental optics research at the University of Milan, SatEnlight transforms cutting-edge optical physics into scalable, secure communication infrastructure for space and terrestrial networks.

Why We Exist
Global data demand, in orbit and on Earth, is growing exponentially. Radio frequency systems are approaching spectral congestion, and conventional optical links still exploit only a fraction of light’s physical potential. We believe the next leap in communication performance will come not from more spectrum, but from a deeper use of the physical structure of light. SatEnlight exists to unlock new communication capacity by advancing how optical information is transmitted and demodulated at the physical layer.

Matteo Vismara
Co-Founder & CEO
Physicist specialized in light propagation through turbulence. Matteo leads SatEnlight’s strategy and growth, turning structured-light research into scalable communication infrastructure. Silicon Valley Fellow and EMBA candidate with a strong track record in leadership and international networking.
Umberto Seregni
Optical Systems Engineer
Photonics specialist with a Master's degree in Physics/Photonics and former AIT Manager in Leonardo. Working closely with the CTO, Umberto drives the development of SatEnlight's free-space optical communication systems, transforming advanced research into functional prototypes. With expertise in hardware integration, he leads prototyping and testing efforts that validate the company's cutting-edge technology and accelerate its path to market.
Francesco Emilio Codazzi
Strategy & Organization associate
Physicist specialized in data science and complex systems. Francesco previously worked at KPMG, where he managed and optimized complex business processes and designed data-driven solutions for clients. At SatEnlight, he supports strategic planning and operational development to help scale the company’s deep-tech vision. He works with SatEnlight through the Deep Tech Revolution grant by Area Science Park.
Bruno Paroli
Scientific Advisor
Associate Professor specializing in singular optics and all-optical neural networks. Co-inventor of multiple telecommunications patents focused on high-density optical processing.
