Galaxia strengthens its support to SatEnlight with follow-on investment

Following its initial investment in 2024, Galaxia – Polo Nazionale di Trasferimento Tecnologico dell’Aerospazio reinforces its commitment to SatEnlight through a new follow-on round, alongside Takeoff Accelerator and a group of private investors, bringing the total funding to €995,000.

SatEnlight is enabling a new generation of optical satellite communications by addressing two critical limitations of current downlink solutions: the need to collect the entire wavefront on the ground and the impact of atmospheric interference. Through its proprietary technology based on Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM), the company can transmit multiple signals within a single light beam and decode them without capturing it in its entirety. This approach results in more robust, scalable and efficient optical links, both between satellites and across space-to-Earth communications, opening new possibilities for high-capacity data transmission in the space sector. The follow-on investment confirms the strength of SatEnlight’s technological vision and its growing relevance within the aerospace innovation ecosystem. Galaxia, the National Technology Transfer Hub dedicated to aerospace, is an initiative by CDP Venture Capital SGR, developed in partnership with Obloo Ventures and supported by leading academic institutions including Politecnico di Torino, Sapienza Università di Roma, Università degli Studi di Padova and Politecnico di Bari. NEVA SGR (Intesa Sanpaolo Group) and Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo are among the initiative’s investors.
